If you are a Smartchoice customer, our Valda Energy Customer Portal will allow you to make payments, view usage and monitor your account balance, on a desktop, mobile phone or tablet. This means you can always access your customer account at a time that suits you, whether in the office or on the move.
You can download the portal as an app from an Appstore on Apple and Google Play, or access by your computer or laptop using the URL app.valdaenergy.com.

With our portal, you can get a number of great benefits, including:
Desktop users: A one-time verification code will be sent to your email address.
Mobile users: You can set up a 6-digit PIN or enable biometric authentication (Face ID or fingerprint login, depending on your device settings).
For future logins, simply enter your email address and authenticate using your password, PIN, Face ID, or fingerprint. If you sign in from a new device, you will be asked to verify your identity using a unique one-time code sent to your email. This additional security step helps keep your account protected.
Once you log in, you'll be taken directly to the portal homepage.
Here, you'll find a clear overview of your account, including your current balance, next invoice date, previous month's energy usage, and payment method.
You'll also be able to view a usage graph for your default meter, with the option to display consumption in either kWh or pounds.
For easy navigation, key features such as Usage, Payments, Accounts, and Meter Readings can be accessed from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen (desktop) or from the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen (mobile). This allows you to quickly access the areas you use most.
Whether you're using a mobile device, tablet, or desktop computer, you can easily navigate the portal by selecting the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner of the screen.
This will open the navigation menu, as shown here, where you can view all available sections of the portal.
Simply select the page you would like to access, and you will be taken there directly.
Smart meters provide valuable insights into your business’s energy usage, helping you reduce consumption and lower costs. Our Customer Portal makes it easy to track and understand your energy use.
Select Usage from the navigation menu to view a visual breakdown of your consumption by meter. Usage is displayed as a stacked chart showing: day rate in green, night rate in blue and standing charge in grey.
Depending on your meter type, you can view your usage by day, week, month, or year, and switch between viewing data in kWh or pounds.
On desktop, your meters are displayed on the right-hand side of the screen; on mobile, they appear below the chart. You can view all meters together or select individual electricity or gas meters for more detailed insights.
If you do not yet have a smart meter, please contact us and we can arrange to install one for you at no extra cost.
To view your invoices, select Payments from the navigation menu. On desktop, this can be found on the left-hand side of the screen. On mobile, access it via the menu at the bottom of the screen. Then select Invoices at the top of the page.
You'll see your current account balance, along with a list of invoices organised by year. To view invoices from previous years, simply select the relevant year from the dropdown menu.
Each invoice displays the invoice number, issue date, due date, status, and amount due. To view a summary of an invoice, select the arrow next to the amount.
From here, you can either Make a Payment or Download Invoice to view the invoice as a PDF.
Keeping an active payment method on your account helps ensure payments are made automatically, reducing the risk of missed bills and saving you time.
To set up a Direct Debit, select "Make a Payment" from the Customer Portal, then choose "Set Up Direct Debit" and follow the on-screen instructions.
For Bank Card payments, select the card you want to use, enter the amount you want to pay. Next click 'Make a Payment' where you will be taken to our secure payments page. When you enter your bank card details via our online platforms you are giving us permission to collect future payments through continuous payment authority ("CPA") via the same card.
