You will still be liable for any changes incurred at your property until you have left the property, and your change of tenancy has been processed. It is important to let us know about your move so we know who is responsible for the premises as you could still be liable for charges incurred by the new tenant if the process is not done properly.

To ensure the process is complete in a timely manner, we recommend that you let us know about your moves as soon as possible.

To find out who supplies your electricity, you can use the Energy Networks Association postcode search tool to find out your network operator and their number. Your network operator should then be able to tell you who supplies your electricity.

In short, no. The energy provider will most likely put you onto a deemed rate tariff when you first move in, which are often more expensive. We recommend that you agree a fixed term contract as soon as you can to avoid being put onto this tariff. You can get a free quote for your new business premises from Valda before you move in.

Once you have let us know that you are moving out, we will issue your final invoice within 6 weeks to ensure you only get billed for what you use.

It is important that you do not cancel your Direct Debit until you have paid your final invoice.

Any remaining credit on your Valda account will be refunded to you once any outstanding invoices have been cleared and your change of tenancy has been processed. This will normally appear in your account 10-14 working days after your final invoice has been issued.

If you have a traditional meter (non-smart), then we require you to submit a closing meter read on the day that your contract ends. This is to ensure that we can produce an accurate final bill. If you don't provide a closing read, then your final bull will be generated using estimated reads, or we may ask you for a photo of your meter.

If you have a smart meter, then you won't need to provide a closing read, we will take this directly.

If you are moving out of a Valda supplied property, we accept:

Landlord Contract Details, Land Registry Documentation, or a HM Land Registry Property Title Register, TR1, Completion of Sale Statement, Solicitor Letter, Business Registration Document or Insolvency Papers.
