What are MPAN and MPRN numbers?

Your MPAN number (Meter Point Administration Number) is a unique 13-digit number assigned to the electricity meter in your property. Your meter profile class is not inlcuded in the 13-digit number.

You can find this located on your gas or electricity bill. If you do not have a previous bill, you can find out what your MPAN is by calling your local electricity supplier.

Your MPRN number (Meter Point Reference Number) is a unique number assigned to the gas meter in your property.

You can find your MPRN online by visiting Find My Supplier and entering your address and postcode, or by calling the meter number helpline on 0870 608 1524..

You may need your numbers when switching energy supplier or moving premises

You can identify your distribution network operator (DNO) using the distribution ID, which is the first two digits of your MPAN number. You can view a DNO map here
