Why do I need to provide an opening read when I move in?

If you have a traditional meter (non-smart), then we require a read when you first move into the premises. This is to ensure that we can provide you with an accurate first bill.

If you have a smart meter, then you won't need to provide an opening read, we will take this directly. 

To provide your opening meter read, then log into your Customer Portal and select 'Submit a meter read'.
