 Purpose 

We have an exciting opportunity to work closely with our Head of Metering & Billing in a newly created role where you will not only lead on smart capable performance but also innovate and evolve processes in line with business growth.  You will lead the deployment, install, commissioning, and adoption of the Valda Energy SMETs electricity and gas portfolio.  A subject matter expert, responsible for liaising with third parties, industry bodies and internal stakeholders on our smart capable estate.

Required technical skills 

  • An end to end understanding of the Relevant Smart Metering System criteria as defined by Ofgem in the Standard License Conditions across all designated premises 
  • Smart deployment planning and forecasting for internal and third party stakeholders 
  • SMETs1 adoption & processing in accordance with the DCC 
  • Experience in working Smart device alerts and messages and recording outputs through use of business process documents 
  • Service Request management and forecasting 
  • Firmware & device management  
  • Device diagnostics and troubleshooting via the DCC and Adaptor provider 
  • SMIKI/DCKI management & forecasting 
  • Management and forecasting of ADTs (Anomaly Detection Thresholds) 

  

Relevant experience 

  • Maximising appointment and install conversions through effective deployment plans 
  • Device management and associated returns processing 
  • Experience of creating, inputting and maintaining a framework in line with ‘All Reasonable Steps.
  • Experience of managing incidents within the DCC environment and its partners 
  • Having worked with standalone/third party adaptor providers, you will have end to end understanding of service requests associated with SMETS meters and the relevant orchestration processes 
  • Familiar with the requirements of the CIO and associated audit requirements 

 

Desirable but not essential 

  • An understanding of SMETs ancillary requirements  
  • Knowledge on MAP / Manufacturer for SMETs assets and devices 
  • People management 
  • SQL knowledge 

The role is office based and subject to a full background check (CRB)
